Over the last month, our daily routines have been completely turned upside down because of the coronavirus. On March 4, a 20-year-old studying abroad in Italy returned home. From Italy, she flew into Chicago and took the Amtrak home to her home in St. Louis. Then, she was tested for coronavirus (COVID-19). Her test came back positive three days later.

Our local authorities and state government have been doing all they can to control the spread of the virus.

• March 13 – A state of emergency was put in place in St. Louis County, restricting gatherings of more than 250 people or less
• March 20 – Gatherings were limited to 10 people or less. Restaurants closed their dine-in area only offered carry out/curbside
• March 23 –  A stay-at-home order was put in place that is set to expire on April 22.
• April 3 –  Missouri Governor Parson then issued a statewide stay-at-home order. The order expires on April 24.
