We’ve been getting a lot of calls recently asking about our residential cleaning services in response to coronavirus. We recommend that you should schedule a cleaning right now. Ultimately the choice is yours, however, the CDC states that cleaning is one of the best practices for the prevention of COVID-19. Plus, you’d be getting a jump on your spring cleaning! Does the CDC give advice about in-home cleaning (carpet, rugs, and furniture)? Yes! According to the CDC, for soft (porous) surfaces such as carpeted floor, rugs, and drapes, you should remove visible contamination if present and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces. After cleaning: launder items as appropriate in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. If possible, launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items and dry items completely, or use products with the EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claims. How can Woodard help reduce the spread of COVID-19? The CDC provides a variety of recommendations to protect you and your family. The CDC states that “Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is a best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in households and community settings”. Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection. Woodard is here to help keep your home clean! We can clean your carpeting, hard surfaces, and furniture in-home. If you have rugs that need cleaning you can drop them off at our Rug Care Center (now featuring curbside service!) or schedule for our team to pick-up your rugs and drop them off after cleaning. We are now also offering the application of a carpet disinfectant with your carpet cleaning! We utilize an EPA-approved product that is applied after your carpet cleaning.
