How to Get Coffee Out of Carpet

1. Grab a clean towel and gently blot up the excess liquid from the carpet immediately
2. Prepare a home detergent solution
3. Using mainly suds and a white cloth/paper towel gently shampoo the area
4. Repeat until the coffee stain is removed from your carpet

Keep these key factors in mind as you work to remove the coffee from your carpeting.

Be sure to use a white cloth or a clean paper towel. You don’t want to accidentally stain your carpet more by using a cloth/towel with color pigment in it. If you do use a colored cloth/towel you run the risk of the pigment bleeding into your carpet. It’s also important to not rub too aggressively or you may cause texture change. Simply, dab lightly. Lastly, be sure to treat the stain as quickly as possible. By treating the coffee stain when it’s still wet you’ll have better results and lower the risk of leaving a permanent stain. If you wait, that gives the coffee time to soak deep into your carpets reaching your carpet pad.

Home Detergent Solution

Use the following ingredients to mix your own home detergent solution:

• 1 quart warm water
• 1 tsp. Biz brand detergent booster
• 1 tsp. liquid dish detergent
