Where it all began

Woodard’s beginning sounds like that of a dramatic movie storyline: a young man goes to war and returns a hero, charts a future with his beautiful bride and together, they create a legacy of quality service for generations.

As an Army Air Corps navigator during World War II, Earl Woodard’s plane was shot down over occupied France. Escaping on foot through the Pyrenees Mountains, Earl eventually found freedom in Spain, was reunited with the allied forces and honorably returned home to St. Louis.

Upon his return, Earl and his wife, Nancy, started a carpet cleaning service that operated out of a canvas-covered trailer pulled by their only family car. Customer by customer, Earl and Nancy grew the Woodard business from these humble beginnings in 1946 to become the areas most trusted resource for carpet, rug and furniture cleaning.

In 1985, Woodard began expanding their services, emerging as the Midwest’s leading restoration services provider for fire restoration services, including smoke odor removal, and water damage extraction removal and dry out services. In 2005, our water restoration services expanded to provide mold remediation services.

Our Construction service line was started in 2009. This addition allowed for Woodard to be one of the first full-service restoration companies in the area allowing customers to work with Woodard from start to finish.
