Meet Woodard’s Master Rug Cleaner: Scott Ring

A part of the Woodard family since 1988, Master Rug Cleaner Scott Ring is the binding that holds our rug cleaning center and plant together.

With an impressive background in the history and age of hand-knotted and oriental area rugs, and extensive knowledge of fiber construction and rug repair, Scott leads the team in cleaning, altering, and restoring everything from mass produced throw rugs to priceless heirlooms.

Following Scott’s Journey

Joining the Woodard team in 1988 as a cleaning technician, Scott instantly developed a passion for carpet and rugs, but also for the industry as a whole, as he began to learn about alterations and rug customization.

After eight years of dedicated service, Scott left the team to pursue a dream at Rug World Oriental Rugs. Working as Showroom Manager, Scott directly imported and sold fine rugs, but also began studying under rug expert, Kourosh Tavazo. His new found knowledge and experience provided him with the skills needed to double the size of the store, and expand the business as a whole.

Scott Ring re-joined the Woodard team in January, 2013, as Rug Plant Operations Manager, where he was welcomed with open arms. Since re-joining our team, Scott has become a certified Master Rug Care Repair Technician and Master Rug Cleaner, and is directly associated with the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers).
