Once the source of the water inflow has been repaired by a third party, call Woodard. A Woodard water damage specialist will come to your home and assess the water damage. Using that information and our insurance-based software, we will accurately estimate the time and materials needed to complete your repair. With your approval of the estimate, we will quickly get your home dry and back to normal. More specifically, we implement this proven 8-step process:

Total Inspection

We have a $195 fee for water assessments. If you choose Woodard to perform the repairs, the $195 assessment fee is covered under the cost of remediation. This involves ensuring the source of the water or flooding has been repaired completely, determining the water sanitation category, and classifying the damages for insurance purposes.

1. Water Source Shutdown
   Once the water source has been repaired by a third party, Woodard can begin the extraction, drying and cleaning process.

2. Floodwater Containment
   We will contain the existing floodwater to prevent further damage of floors, walls, furnishings, appliances or other household items.

3. Water Extraction
   We will bring water pumps to drain the majority of the floodwater from the property. Once indoor temperatures are at required levels, we will use air moving machines to evaporate any remaining water and use dehumidifiers to remove the moisture generated by the evaporation process. Rest assured our dehumidification experts use only industry-proven drying techniques and monitor the process through every phase to ensure proper drying occurs within walls, floors and other key surfaces.

4. Cleanup and Disinfection
   We will remove remaining dirt and debris before fully disinfecting to prevent mold and microorganism infestation.

5. Repair and Reconstruction
   Our construction professionals will repair all the physical and cosmetic damage to your property.

6. Contents Restoration
   During your restoration process, we can also move your affected belongings to our special facility for restoration. There, we will clean and restore all items that can be saved and move them back into your fully restored property.

7. Final Inspection
   Using moisture meters, the restoration team will inspect your house to ensure it is completely dry. Woodard will inspect the completed restoration work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards. We will also invite you to review the finished work and let us know it meets your expectations and satisfaction.

If the loss is covered under your insurance policy, then yes. However, if the cost for mitigation and repair is less than your deductible, it may be more cost-effective to skip the claim process and pay out of pocket.

Not all homeowners’ insurance policies cover the same types of losses, so it’s best to contact your insurance carrier.

If water is coming in from a sewer drain in your home, please call a plumber immediately to clear the line before calling us to start your dry out/cleanup process. If the water is coming from a burst pipe or an appliance, toilet, bathtub or other source of running water, you must have a third party repair the source before we can begin the clean up or restoration process.

Woodard does not repair the source of the water, it is best to call a third party to identify the source of the leak and make the repair.

If a sewer backup caused your water damage, it wouldn’t hurt to call MSD to see if it’s a covered loss. We do work with MSD’s insurance on covered losses, so we would be happy to help. If this is an MSD-covered loss, be sure to get a work order #/claim # from them, as well as clarification of whether you have a “blocked main” or “overcharged main”.

All of the chemicals we use are safe for your household and the environment. We keep an updated library of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on all products we use, and are happy to provide this information upon request.

Depending on the severity of your water damage, our Dispatch department can send a crew to your house as soon as possible. We will call you in advance to let you know we’re on the way.

Have the source of the water repaired or shut off before we arrive. If possible, move valuable items out of the water to prevent additional damage.

Because of high power, our dehumidifiers, air movers and axial fans are loud, but must remain running to completely dry the area to prevent mold growth or rotting.

No. The equipment is perfectly safe for humans and pets, but we do ask you not to touch the equipment or electrical wires. Both the equipment and electrical wires are strategically placed to maintain safety.
