In an effort to help one million people get back to their lives, Woodard helped HOSCO Foods and NICHE Food Group provide free meals for kids and families in need.

The North Sarah Food Hub is a project of HOSCO Foods. The North Sarah Food Hub is a project of HOSCO Foods, a non-profit organization focused on growing and distributing healthy foods into communities. During this time of crisis, HOSCO Foods teamed up with NICHE Food Group with an idea on how to better serve those in need of food such as St. Louis Public School students and low-income seniors.

HOSCO Foods and NICHE Food Group quickly realized they needed a large, commercial size kitchen that was properly cleaned and disinfected in order to prepare the food. They reached out to Woodard for some help. After talking with the group and learning about their goal, Woodard performed a complimentary cleaning of a brand new commercial kitchen. Ensuring that the kitchen was properly cleaned and sanitized the two organizations could get working.

Today the kitchen is able to prepare lunches for St. Louis Public School students as well as box dinners for low-income seniors in the St. Louis area. Together, Woodard, HOSCO Foods, and NICHE Food Group are able to help the community one meal at a time.

HOSCO Foods’ mission is to increase the economic viability of the careers in the local food system, creating careers around culinary arts, food aggregation and distribution, ultimately improving the quality of the people within the community. Their vision is to create a community-operated commercial vegetable and fish farm with a strong Farm-to-Fork program by incorporating local, sustainably grown food sources, combined with local job training and entrepreneurship programs.
