Shut Off Utilities

As you know, gas leaks are extremely dangerous. After all injuries have been noted, turn off your gas, water, and electricity to avoid explosive pipe damages. NEVER use a match, lighter, or any type of open flame to inspect a gas leak.

Using a flashlight, carefully note interior and exterior damages, as well as structural damage that may cause immediate harm. If you suspect your home needs the attention of a restoration team or reconstruction crew, contact a professional immediately, and seek shelter in a safe space.

Clean Up, Safely

After you’ve inspected your space for storm damage, you may begin to clean up. Remember, only clean up what you can, and never touch hazardous objects or debris. If you do find hazardous objects or debris on your property, take photos for your homeowner’s insurance company to assist with the claims process.
