• Binding– Stitching a cloth strip, in your choice of color and size, to protect the sides of the rug, while adding a unique design element.
• Serging– Wrapping a cotton thread around the edging of the rug to create an elegant appearance and finished look, while safely securing raw edges.
• Fringe Replacement– The addition of fringe to the rug, using your choice of color, length, and texture.
• Fringe Removal– The process of removing damaged, outdated, or discolored fringe on the rug. If needed, replacement fringe or binding can be added.
• Rebuilding & Reweaving– When foundation is missing in one specific area of the rug, the entire rug becomes weak and fragile, and must be rebuilt to avoid further damage. After rebuilding is complete, we can re-knot or re-weave the pile to ensure a seamless look.
• Plugs– When holes are found in rugs, a plug must be stitched to prevent the hole from growing and weakening other areas of the rug. After stitching the plug, our rug alterations specialists secure the back with sturdy burlap and latex reinforcements.
