Winter months pose quite the challenge to both property and facility managers.

On a cold February day, one property manager’s nightmare quickly became a reality, as a frozen water line ruptured in a housing complex, causing water to cascade from the 8th floor, all the way down to the lobby.  More than 40 units were affected, as well as corridors, stairwells, offices, server rooms, and storage closets, resulting in 50,000 square feet of damage, a complete power outage, and dozens of displaced families – all from one broken water line.
