Reaching for an extra cup of coffee or soda might be tempting, but too much caffeine—especially in the afternoon—can disrupt your sleep. Try to avoid caffeine at least four hours before bedtime to ensure a restful night.

Resist the Urge to Sleep In

If you have the chance to sleep in on Sunday, resist the temptation! Sticking to your normal wake-up time will help your body adjust faster. If you’re feeling extra tired, a short cat nap (20–30 minutes) in the afternoon can help without interfering with your nighttime sleep.
